The Phantasm Blood-Stained Disco Vinyl Record From 1979

There have been so many great PHANTASM collectibles over the years. From action figures to comic books and even Hammers no fan will ever run out of fun things to collect. However, the Vinyl record that came out in 1979 might be at the top of the list.

While many horror fans think of the late 70s as a Golden Era for horror films there was another major pop culture force at play…DISCO!

Disco is a genre of dance music and a subculture that emerged in the 1970s from the United States' urban nightlife scene. Its sound is typified by four-on-the-floor beats, syncopated basslines, string sections, horns, electric piano, synthesizers, and electric rhythm guitars. Disco can be seen as a reaction by the 1960s counterculture to both the dominance of rock music and the stigmatization of dance music at the time. (Wikipedia)

As Phantasm was released in 1979 it makes perfect sense that the ultimate disco-Phantasm collaboration would happen.

The Gemm record label put out the 12 Inch Disco remix of the original PHANTASM theme in 1979.

The remix was done by Captain Zorro. There is very little info about the artist!

Over the years this ultra rare track has made it’s way into special edition laserdiscs, DVDs and Blu-Ray sets but the actual vinyl’s still remain difficult to find.

Have you heard it?!
