In Denver last weekend, PHANTASM fans gathered for a screening unlike any other inside a working mortuary. Hosted by Scream Screen at Feldman Mortuary, the event turned the film’s macabre setting into a living backdrop.

The audience showed up dressed for the occasion: black lace, vintage horror flair, and plenty of eerie energy. Watching Don Coscarelli’s nightmare vision in a real funeral home felt less like a movie and more like stepping through the screen.

With the additional Portland funeral home screening this year, PHANTASM creator Don Coscarelli posed the question on Instagram: Could this be a new Halloween tradition?
